To realize a noncontact DC motor in which the amount of a magnetic flux is made variable.
A first object 76 is provided with windings 85a, 85b, 86a, 86b, 87a, 87b. The coercive force of permanent magnets 101, 102, which are installed at a second object 80 and which are situated in the second quadrant and the fourth quadrant of a d-q plane, is made larger as compared with the coercive force of permanent magnets 103, 104 which are situated in its first quadrant and its third quadrant. With this constitution, a sufficient coercive force is ensured in the second quadrant and the fourth quadrant, which require a large coercive force. The permanent magnets 103, 104 which are situated in the first quadrant and the third quadrant, whose coercive force is small, can thus be made as low cost.
