To provide a motor type vehicle drive apparatus reduced in size and weight compared to a conventional one and contributing to the increase of the operation stability of a vehicle by reducing a spring lower load without deteriorating a strength safety factor.
The motor type vehicle drive apparatus 1 includes: driving wheels 6 having tires 67 and wheels 64; a motor 3 disposed inside the wheels 64 of the driving wheels 6 and having an output shaft (rotor hub 33) outputting drive torque rotating/driving the wheels 64; a wheel shaft 41 rotatably connected to the output shaft 33 of the motor 3 and fixed to the wheel 64 of the driving wheels 6; and a torque restriction mechanism 5 disposed to a power transmission path transmitting power from the output rotor 33 of the motor 3 to the wheel shaft 41, keeping the directly-connected state until the transmitted torque reaches predetermined torque, and generating a slide when exceeding the predetermined torque to restrict the transmitted torque.
