Abstract:

To prevent a temperature rise in cooling liquid for cooling an internal combustion engine.

When cooling water temperature Tw of the engine is not less than the water temperature threshold value Twref (S120), the target drive point of the engine is set (S150) based on a fuel economy optimized operation line and the demand power Pe* of the engine, without allowing selection of an NV line between a fuel economy optimized operation line to drive the engine efficiently and the NV line to drive the engine with less efficiency than the efficiency on the fuel economy optimized operation line in a part of the operating area to avoid operation in a so called muffled sound area. Then, the engine is driven at the target drive point and the engine and two motors are controlled (S160 to S220) so that the vehicle is run by torque based on the demand torque Tr*. This prevents the temperature rise in the cooling water due to increase in heat loss of the engine.
