This motor M is equipped with the oil retaining bearing 35 supporting the rotating shaft 11 and a frame end (housing) 31 holding the oil retaining bearing 35 in a bearing holder 34. The frame end 31 is formed with a communicating hole 37 which communicate between its outside with a sliding portion 35a between the rotating shaft 11 and the oil retaining bearing 35 and supplies lubricating oil 39 to the sliding portion 35a from the outside. The bearing holder 34 is formed with a covering member 36 for covering the communication hole 37.
