Title:
MOTORCYCLE TIRE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0382607
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve durability to a great extent by using high-strength high- elasticity polyvinyl alcohol fibers having specific dynamic elasticity and the insoluble component at a specific ratio for cords extracted from a belt layer.

CONSTITUTION: A tire for a motorcycle has a pair of bead sections, a carcass layer folded around them and having cords intersecting a tire equatorial plane at the angle 90-25°, and a belt layer having cords intersecting the tire equatorial plane at the angle 0-40°. Specific high-strength high-elasticity polyvinyl alcohol fibers are used for cords extracted from the belt layer. The dynamic elasticity E' of the specific fibers at 100°C and 30Hz is set to satisfy the following equa tion: 0.3×1011 dyn/cm2<E'<1.5×1011 dyn/cm2, and the insoluble component when the fibers are dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide at 120°C is set to 5 wt.% or above.
