The control device 4 sets the q-axis current instruction value Iq* at zero when the steering torque Th falls within a pre-set range of a dead zone. Here, the control device 4 narrows the range of the dead zone in a state where the vehicle travels straight at a constant speed higher than a given speed is continued.
