1535628 Locks ELLENBERGER & POENSGEN GmbH 17 June 1977 [25 June 1976] 25494/77 Heading E2A Bolt 22 is moved to and from a locking position by the movement of bimetallic strip 8, in the circular part of which is located a PTC (as defined) resistor for heating it. Bar 14 connecting the resistor to the bolt is provided with electrical contacts 17, 18 which, when the bolt is moved in the locking direction complete a circuit with contacts 19, 20 to start e.g. a washing cycle. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown) a leg of the strip itself operates the bolt and is furnished with the contacts. The connecting bar 14 may also be bimetallic and so increase the movement of the bolt.
