Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate necessity for a mounting screw hole and allow the mounting and removing operations to be made quickly and simply by installing a panic exit device consisting of a pushing crosspiece and base member on an intermediate rail mounted between an active side column and a passive side column.

CONSTITUTION: The ends of an intermediate rail 20 are attached to an active side column 30 to hold an insert lock mechanism for fixing a door 24 fitted with panels 42 and 44 of glass, etc., and a passive side column 40 to hold a hinge constituent body for mounting of the door 24. To the intermediate rail 20, a panic exit device 10 is installed, which is a door actuating device consisting of a pushing crosspiece 50 and a base member 60. When a person is going to get out through the door 24, he pushes in the crosspiece 50 toward the base member 60, and the door frame is disengaged from the insert lock mechanism through a lever 64 and an actuator pin 30 in an opening 74 formed in the side column 30.
