Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp capable of sufficiently releasing distortion of a sealed tube that occurs when an adhesive filling a gap between a mouthpiece and the sealed pipe is hardened, when lighting on the lamp, and a method for mounting the discharge lamp to a power supply member.SOLUTION: The discharge lamp comprises: a glass-made light-emitting tube 12 incorporating a pair of electrodes 16; a pair of glass-made sealed tubes 13 and 14 integrated with the light-emitting tube; a pair of mouthpieces each including a cylindrical part 31 covering outer peripheral surfaces of the sealed tubes and a closed end portion 33 closing one end portion of the cylindrical part; a pair of conduction members 17, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 27 partially positioned within the mouthpieces and conducting one end with one mouthpiece and another end with the pair of electrodes, respectively; and an adhesive 41 for fixing the mouthpieces and the sealed tubes. The closed end portion of a mouthpiece 29 attachable to and detachable from the power supply member 45 includes: a first power feeding part 36 which forms at least an outer edge of the closed end portion and is brought into contact with the power supply member when the mouthpiece is connected to the power supply member; and a first non-contact part 35 which forms the remainder of the closed end portion and is positioned closer to the electrodes than the first power supply part.
