To obtain a mounting member of a shock absorber with a small mounting dimension to car body side.
The mounting member of the shock absorber is provided with: a cup type bracket fixed and held on a car body side member and opened in the opposite direction of the car body side member; and a bump stopper externally fitted to a rod of the shock absorber constituting a suspension of a vehicle and restricting an operation stroke of the shock absorber by elastic deformation, with the bracket as a guide. The bump stopper comprises a body barrel part, and a tapered tip end portion provided to a car body side end and having an outer surface with an inclination, with its diameter gradually reduced toward the car body side member. The cup type bracket includes an inclined wall part having an inside face abutting on the outer surface with the inclination of the tapered tip end portion, and the tapered tip end portion includes an annular groove formed partitioning the tapered tip end portion into a car body side member side and a shock absorber side.
