Title:
MOUNTING METHOD OF THERMALLY SHRINKABLE TUBE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS58187313
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an anticorrosive layer simply by a method wherein a thermally shrinkable tube cut along the lengthwise direction is mounted on a long member, then, a cylindrical spacer divided in the lengthwise direction is inserted inside said tube and as other than the cut ends of the tube are cooled the above- mentioned cut ends are heated and welded.

CONSTITUTION: A thermally shrinkable tube 1 is cut in the lengthwise (longitudinal) direction and put on the joint part of pipe 2 in operation such as a steel pipe etc. to be anticorrosion treated. Then, the cylindrical spacer 3 divided in the lengthwise direction is inserted inside this tube and the cut ends 5, 6 of the tube are heated and welded as section other than the cut ends outside the tube are cooled by the cooler 4 put on the tube. Then, the whole tube is heated uniformly, shrunk in the radial direction and stuck closely to the joint. In this manner, it is possible to obtain the shrinkable layer of the thermally shrinkable tube having stable characteristics irrespective of the skill of an operator.
