Abstract:
PURPOSE: To avoid oscillation of a feed shaft by keeping the critical speed of a feed screw shaft where a movable body supported by a guide rail fixed at a base can move in the axial direction in a low speed range.
CONSTITUTION: Intermediate support nuts 4, 5 are screwed with a feed screw shaft 2 through a ball, and supported against intermediate support frames 13, 14 through a roller bearing. The frame is supported against the slider 9 of a straight traveling bearing which is fitted to two guide rails 6 which are the same as for guiding a table. As a result, parallelism between the feed screw shaft 2 and the intermediate support can be made accurate, and the stability and smooth movement of the intermediate support can be attained. Pre-load is applied to the intermediate support nuts 4, 5, the feed screw shaft 2, a roller bearing 11 which supports the intermediate support nuts, and a slider 9 for supporting the intermediate support to eliminate a backlash for supporting the feed screw 16 and the intermediate support frames 13, 14. The intermediate support is moved by the drive means of an auxiliary feed screw 16, that is, timing pulleys 19, 20 and a timing belt 21, so the intermediate support, is moved to a desired position independently according to the rotation of a screw shaft for a table only with the rotation of the auxiliary feed screw regardless of the rotation of the feed screw.
