This movable reel for long-size articles has a basic structure in which a reel part is fitted to a carriage part. The reel part comprises a winding drum 8 for winding a long-size article and passive wheels 2 fixedly secured coaxially to the outside of the winding drum. The carriage part comprises a frame 3 having wheels 1 and holding arm rods 6 formed continuously with the frame. Bearing arm rods 4 on which the shaft 7 of the reel part is pivotally supported are swingably pivotally supported on the frame 3. The passing wheels 2 and the wheels 1 are disposed to be brought into contact with each other at one end of the swing range.
