PURPOSE: To enlarge the roof opening area of a movable roof provided with a lateral pair of movable roof panels opened/closed in the vehicle width direction.
CONSTITUTION: A lateral pair of movable roof panels 2L, 2R are respectively formed of two panel parts 2a, 2b. Two panel parts 2a, 2b are connected to each other rotatably around a folding shaft 3 extended in the vehicle longitudinal direction, and the vehicle width direction center side end part of the panel part 2b is supported on the vehicle 6 side in such a way as to be rotatably erected around a rotary shaft 5 extended in the vehicle longitudinal direction. Stays 7, 8 are provided at the front and rear edge parts of the panel parts 2a, 2b in such a way as to be rotatable around pins 9, 9', and rollers 10, 11 provided at the lower end parts of the stays 7, 8 are slidably engaged with guide rails 12 disposed at the front and rear edge parts of a roof opening. Since the movable roof panels 2L, 2R are folded in the fully opened state so as to be erected almost vertically to the vehicle body roof, the movable roof panels 2L, 2R in the fully opened state can be made compact.
