The movable shelf device comprises a standby power source switch for turning off the standby power source of the movable shelf device 1 by continuing an unused state for a specific time, a photoelectric sensor for outputting a signal by shielding or reflecting a light beam 11 when operating any operation member 7 of a movable shelf 2 by projecting the light beam 11 passing through the front of the operation member 7 at the same height as the operation member 7 of the movable shelf 2 and a power source control part for switching the standby power source switch to ON by an output signal of the photoelectric sensor.
