Title:
MOVEMENT DIRECTION CONVERTING MECHANISM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3176665
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To selectively change the rotating movement of a motor to a rectilinear reciprocating movement or an oscillating reciprocating movement.
CONSTITUTION: An eccentric cam 29 as a movement direction converting cam part of a movement direction converting mechanism used for a motor toothbrush or the like is interlocking connected an output shaft 21 of a motor 13. The eccentric cam 29 is slidingly fitted to an elliptical opening 31 of a direction converting cam bearing tube 30. The direction converting cam bearing tube 30 is rotated by 90° by a position control mechanism to selectively adopt a vertical position and a horizontal position. In the respective positions, the vertically reciprocating movement or the horizontally reciprocating movement of the direction converting cam bearing tube 30 can be carried out interlocking with the rotation of the eccentric cam 29 in the same direction. Further, an operating member of a brush attaching shaft is so designed as to attain a rectilinear reciprocating movement along its axis or an oscillating reciprocating movement around its axis interlocking with the above described reciprocating movement.
