This movement judging method for deciding one arbitrary point of a target subject in an image imaged by an image pickup means as a reference point, and judging whether or not the reference point is moved from an initial position to judge whether or not the subject is moved comprises a decision range deciding step for deciding a predetermined decision range with the reference point of the subject in the imaged image as the center of the initial position, a position detecting step for detecting the position of the reference point of the subject in the imaged image, a movement deciding step for judging whether or not the detected position in the position detecting step is present within the decision range decided in the decision range deciding step, and for deciding that the subject is static when the judgement result is positive, and for deciding that the subject is moved in the other case, and a position updating step for updating the detected position to a new initial position when it is decided that the subject is moved in the operation deciding step.
