To provide a moving device capable of traveling on rails by one mechanism and traveling by being suspended from the rails.
The moving device 1 capable of selecting travel on a plurality of rails 4 or the travel by being suspended from the plurality of rails has wheels 12 moving in contact with respective upper faces of the plurality of rails 4, wheel holding tools 13 for holding the wheels 12, a main body 10 on which the wheel holding tools 13 are mounted, and a derailment preventing device 14 provided on the main body 10. The derailment preventing device 14 moves along at least either respective outside or inside surfaces of the plurality of rails 4, and has auxiliary wheels 141 for preventing derailment of the wheels 12 over the rail 4 and a length adjusting mechanism 142 for adjusting length between the auxiliary wheels 141 and the main body 10.
