Abstract:
To provide a moving handrail driving device for a passenger conveyor capable of easily controlling the pushing force and to be housed in a narrow space, and to provide a passenger conveyor operating method using this moving handrail driving device.
In this moving handrail driving device for a passenger conveyor, a driving roller 4 and a pushing roller 11 pinch a moving handrail 3 to drive the moving handrail 3 with the frictional force. The pushing force to the moving handrail 3 is controlled by an actuator 21 for moving the pushing roller forward and backward with and against a pushing spring 14 for giving the pushing force to the pushing roller 11.
