PURPOSE: To provide a moving handrail which is followable to the stair-tread velocity of a variable speed type passenger conveyor capable of changing the moving velocity of a stair tread in a simple structure.

CONSTITUTION: In a variable speed type passenger conveyor varying each speed of multiple stair treads 3 between a boarding port and an alighting port, each of three moving handrails 31 to 33 is set up in both symnetrical sides of each stair tread 3, and height and speed of two moving handrails 31, 33 at both sides and the central one 32 are conformed to the speed of the stair tread. With this constitution, such moving handrails as being followable to the tread velocity of this variable speed type passenger conveyor capable of changing each moving velocity of these stair treads is thus offerable.
