Title:
MOVING IMAGE DECODING APPARATUS AND METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2008245131
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a moving image decoding apparatus and moving image decoding method in which a load of decoding processing can be reduced while suppressing the deterioration of image quality.

A moving image decoding apparatus includes: a decoding means for receiving the input of a moving image encoding stream and decoding a predictive error signal; a motion compensation prediction means for producing a motion compensation prediction signal by motion compensation prediction using a motion vector with at least one reference picture; a weighted prediction means for producing a weighted prediction signal from the product of the motion compensation prediction signal and a first weight coefficient and a linear sum with a second weight coefficient; an addition means for adding either the weighted prediction signal produced by the weighted prediction means or the motion compensation prediction signal produced by the motion compensation prediction means and the predictive error signal decoded by the decoding means and decoding an image signal; and a selection means for selecting whether the motion compensation prediction signal or the weighted prediction signal is to be added to the predictive error signal by the addition means.
