A moving image transmission system has an imaging device 1 for transmitting moving image data obtained by imaging, and a display device 2 for receiving and displaying the moving image data transmitted by the imaging device 1. The imaging device 1 transmits compressed frame data compressed to a differential picture to the display device 2 after the imaging device 1 once transmits compressed frame data compressed to a reference picture. The display device 2 analyzes the compressed frame data received by an analyzer 25 to obtain a parameter for estimating the quality of a moving image, and transmits to the imaging device 1 an instruction signal containing a re-transmitting request command for requesting re-transmission of the compressed frame data compressed to the reference picture when the parameter is lower than a threshold value.
