The robot is provided with: a dialogue prompting operation control part 47 for performing control to make each portion execute a dialogue prompting operation to prompt a speech of the dialogue target as a single operation perceptible for the dialogue target by using one or more portions or as a combination of the single operations; and a dialogue prompting operation information storing means 33 storing a plurality of pieces of dialogue prompting operation information indicating information associating the dialogue prompting operation with a portion to be used to execute the dialogue prompting operation. The dialogue prompting operation control part 47 is provided with: a use condition detecting means 110 for detecting a portion which is being currently used; a dialogue prompting operation determination means 120 for determining a dialogue prompting operation based on the detected portion and dialogue prompting operation information; and a perceptible operation control means 130 for making the portion to be used for the determined dialogue prompting operation execute the operation.
