To provide an MRI apparatus by which a vascular flow can be imaged without administering a contrast agent, and an MRA (magnetic resonance angiography) image improved in the contrast between the vascular flow and the substantial part can be obtained maximally making best use of the inflow effect of the vascular flow even if the vascular flow is in a variable condition.
In the MRI apparatus which is made to carry out imaging by the ECG (electrocardiogram) synchronizing technique to a desired site of a subject, an optimum delay time setting means to be used in imaging MR scan by the ECG synchronizing technique and to preliminarily set an optimum synchronizing timing corresponding to a high signal time phase range presenting a high signal value via practice of a preparing MR scan, a scanning means for imaging to practice MR scan for imaging synchronized with the optimum delay time to collect echo signals, and an image creating means to create an image by placing the echo signals in a k space and applying the reconstruction process to the placing signals are provided. The scanning means for imaging includes a practicing means to practice a pulse sequence set so as to place the echo signals collected in the high signal time phase range into the desired low frequency range at the center part of the k space.
