To improve deflective appearance from a rear side caused by peeling- off of painting of a muffler body by externally fitting a rear end outer peripheral part of a cover body so as to cover a rear end face of the muffler body for a vehicle, and forming an escape hole for a tail tube projected from the rear end face of the muffler body on the cover body.

A muffler cover 1 has an arcuate cover body 3 which covers a rear end face of a muffler body 2 having a circular section by two thirds from a lower side to an upper side, and an externally fitting part 4 which is arranged along an arcuate portion of the cover body 3 and externally fitted to a rear end outer peripheral part of the muffler body 2. An escape 6 hole for a tail tube 5 projected from the rear end face of the muffler body 2 is formed on the cover body 3. A muffler cutter 7 is externally fitted to the tail tube 5 projected from the escape hole 6. Clamps are fitted to a fastening curled portion 9 on the rear end peripheral part of the muffler body 2. The muffler body 2 is integrally connected to the externally fitting part 4 by means of the clamps 10 and a bolt 15.
