To provide a muffler valve device to be opened in a muffler which is arranged in an exhaust system for a vehicular engine when exhaust pressure rises to prescribed pressure, without generating abnormal noises.
The muffler valve device comprises a plate valve 43 arranged to cover a valve hole and adapted to be deflected and deformed to open the valve hole when the exhaust pressure rises to prescribed pressure and a plate spring member 47 for imparting thrust to the plate valve 43 in the direction of restoring the deflection and deformation thereof. The thrust is imparted via an abutting portion 47c emphatically onto the side of a symmetric axis 43e instead of the side end of the plate valve 43 to improve the sealing performance of the valve hole.
