Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat muffler having high surface rigidity.SOLUTION: An upper shell half 11 and a lower shell half 12 are steel-plate press-molded molds which have bottoms 61, 71 and openings 62, 72 opposing the bottoms, respectively, and are formed into flat shapes. The bottom 61 of the upper shell half 11 has, at fore-and-aft two points, first and second engagement steps 63, 64 with which upper portions of first and second separators 21, 22 are engaged. The bottom 71 of the lower shell half 12 is formed into a wavy curved face in which first to third circular curved faces 81 to 83 protrusive downward are continuous rearward from the front. First and second engagement steps 73, 74 with which lower portions of the first and second separators 21, 22 are engaged are made to serve as connecting parts of the first to third circular curved faces 81 to 83.
