Abstract:
To provide a muffling device which has a large transmission loss, facilitates molding and adjustment in correspondence with a frequency, and has a wide range of frequencies in which muffling effect can be obtained.SOLUTION: A muffling device 1 inserted into a main pipe 2 through which fluid flows includes an inner pipe 3, and side branch chambers 7a-7d, 7e-7h formed between the main pipe 2 and the inner pipe 3. In the muffling device 1, inlet/outlet ports 8a-8d, 8e-8h communicating with the side branch chambers 7a-7d, 7e-7h are provided on an inner surface of the inner pipe 3. The side branch chamber is surrounded by the main pipe 2, the inner pipe 3, upstream/downstream partitioning plates 4, 5 formed on an outer surface of the inner pipe 3, and a rib plate 6 formed on the outer surface of the inner pipe 3 and extending in an axial direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
