To obtain a muffling material for a muffler which can be extremely inexpensively manufactured in comparison with a usual muffling material made of a stainless material and can prevent a filled up grass wool from scattering toward an exhaust pipe by using a braided cloth which is braidedly laminated using a convergent material formed of many converged long grass fibers.

A convergent material 1 is formed of a resin fiber layer 3 composed of a grass fiber layer 2 which is formed by arranging 2000-4000 pieces of grass fibers 2a being 30-35 μm in a fiber diameter and convergently polymerizing them and an acrylic resin fiber 3a to be fused by heating at a specified temperature. A second convergent material 1b is obliquely arranged on the first convergent material 1a which is composed of the convergent material 1 and arranged longitudinally, and moreover a third convergent material 1c is arranged on the second convergent material 1b in an oblique direction opposite to the second convergent material 1b, and these fulcrums are joined to form a three axis braided cloth for applying it as a muffling material 4, which is wound around the outer periphery of an exhaust pipe composing a muffler 6.
