Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain excellent damping against load perpendicular to the axis of a vibration damper with axial caps and diaphragm-edge areas by providing an inner and outer supporting sleeves mutually connected by a spring element of an elastic material, two chambers filled with a liquid arranged diametrically opposite, two inner air chambers, and demarcating both chambers with specifically designed walls.

CONSTITUTION: The hydraulic bushing has an inner and an outer supporting sleeve 1,2 mutually connected by a rubber elastic spring element 3, demarcating four chambers inside. Two chambers 5, 6 in radial outside are filled with a liquid, and mutually communicated through a hole 4. Two chambers in radial inside have frontal aperture walls, and are not filled with a liquid, being separated from the liquid-filled chambers 5, 6 with walls 7, 8 formed in one piece with the spring element 3. The walls 7, 8 have central areas 7.1, 8.1 resistant to expansion and edge areas 7.2, 8.2 with a rolling-diaphragm-type design, and the central areas 7.1, 8.1 face against the inner supporting sleeve 1 with maximum gaps 9.1, 9.2 of 1 mm.
