Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a multi-color head-up display having a comparatively simple formation process and using a holographic combiner prevented from the reduction of diffraction efficiency due to multi-coloring. CONSTITUTION:The face of the holographic combiner C is divided into plural groups of fine areas so that respective adjacent fine areas belong to other groups, interference stripes based upon two beams having the same arrangement due to the same wavelength are recorded in the fine areas of each group R, G, or B so that the interference stripes of the adjacent fine areas are not mutually and practically overlapped and interference stripes corresponding to another wavelength are recorded in a different group. Consequently the reduction of diffraction efficiency due to the multiplication of interference stripes can be prevented, the diffraction efficiency of each wavelength is distributed in accordance with the area ratio of the area, 100% diffraction efficiency can be obtained in total, and a bright multicolored display can be obtained.
