Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a painting composition enabling the stabilization of enamel dispersion particles, excellent in storage characteristics and having low smelling characteristics on painting and excellent weather and water resistance of formed membrane by using a copolymer having a specific monomer concentration, acid value and weight-average molecular weight as an enamel resin.
SOLUTION: This composition contains one or more than one kind of enamel dispersion particles obtained by mixing and dispersing a composition mainly consisting of (A) a copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a monomer mixture containing at least 20wt.% an acrylic monomer and having a weight-average molecular weight of 20,000-200,000 and an acid value of ≤2, (B) a pigment and (C) a solvent. Further, it is preferable that the component A is obtained by copolymerizing a monomer mixture containing (i) 10-30wt.% styrene, (ii) 50-90wt.% an acrylic monomer and (iii) 0-40wt.% other monomer and having a glass transition temperature of 0-80°C. Furthermore, an SP-value determined from all acrylic monomers to be used is preferably 7.6-8.6.
