Abstract:

To provide a multi-core optical connector which is inexpensive and easy to assemble.

A multi-core optical connector comprises a ferrule body part 11 formed of a resin which is transparent to the light propagating in optical fiber ribbons 20, convex lenses 12 which are integrally formed with the body part 11 and lined up on a front face 11a of the body part 11, and fiber holes 14 which are integrally formed with the body part 11 on a rear face 11b of the body part 11, extend along the optical axes of the convex lenses 12, and have a predetermined depth for insertion of optical fibers 21 from behind. A ferrule 10 is manufactured to form a single piece by injection molding, so that an inexpensive multi-core optical connector can be provided without precision assembly work.
