A check valve case 34 is arranged downstream of an EGR valve case 31. When a stretching direction of the crankshaft 1 is the back and forth direction and the cross direction of an engine crossing the back and forth direction is the lateral direction, the check valve case 34 is provided along a part of an intake manifold 2 near the rear of an outer lateral side wall on an outer lateral side opposite to a cylinder head 33 in both lateral sides of the intake manifold 2. An intake inlet part 6 of the intake manifold 2 is provided in front of the check valve case 34, and an EGR gas heat radiation passage 36 is formed between the check valve case 34 and the intake inlet part 6 of the intake manifold 2, positioning in the back and forth direction along the outer lateral side wall of the intake manifold 2.
