Title:
MULTI-CYLINDER GASOLINE ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3594873
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower an emission temperature while maintaining a high output by positioning an intersection point X in an optimum intersection point P or its vicinity and to set a proper concentration of a gasoline mixture fed to a cylinder S3 in the rearmost part.
SOLUTION: In a multi-cylinder gasoline engine, a longitudinal width dimension of an intake port inlet E3 in the rearmost part in a view parallel to a cylinder central axial line 8 is represented by w, while a position shifted backward from a front end 11 of the intake port inlet E3 in the rearmost part by a dimension 0.1w is determined as the optimum intersection point P, and an area ranging forward and backward from the optimum intersection point P by a dimension 0.5w respectively is determined as a proper intersection area R. In the view parallel to the cylinder central axial line 8, the intersection point X between an outlet side extension line 10a and an intake port side wall face 2 is positioned apart from a central point 9b of an intake passage 9 outlet 9a for a carburetor 5 by a dimension w-3w and positioned within the proper area R.
