To provide a multi-cylindrical type automatic backwashing strainer capable of effectively exhibiting filtering capacity, and surely performing backwash removal of sludge even adhering to any portion of a filtering surface by making backwashing force for removing sludge adhering to a primary side of a filtering surface uniform over the length direction of a filtering element, and especially suitable for ballast water treatment of a ship.
In a multi-cylindrical type automatic backwashing strainer, a large number of communication holes are formed in a partition plate partitioning a raw water chamber having an inflow port and a filtering chamber having an outflow port in a strainer body, a large number of thin-diameter cylinder-like filtering elements in which upper ends are closed are erected and fixed by communicating the lower end apertures of the filtering elements to the communication holes, a thin-diameter conical body is included in the filtering element toward the lower aperture, a backwashing arm is turnably attached to the raw water chamber, and an outlet of the backwashing arm is successively communicated to the communication holes and communicated to a discharge port provided in the strainer body to backwash the filtering elements.
