The multi-directional input device 11 is configured by freely rotatably disposing a pair of upper and lower mutually separate and orthogonal rotational members 14 and 15 in a case 13 to be placed on a base member 12, and putting an operating member 22 through long holes 14a and 15a perforated in the longitudinal directions of the rotational members 14 and 15, and disposing a spring 17 for energizing the pair of rotational members 14 and 15 by holding those rotational members at a neutral position, and disposing signal outputting means 23 and 24 for outputting signals in accordance with the angles of rotation of the rotational members 14 and 15 at one edge parts of the respective rotational members 14 and 15. The base member 12 is made of synthetic resin, and bearing columns 18, 19, 20, and 21 are respectively erected at each side part configuring a quadrangle on the base member 12 so as to be integrated with the base member 12, and shaft holes 18a, 19a, 20a, and 21a through which the rotational members 14 and 15 are fit idly so as to be freely rotatable are perforated at the upper parts of the bearing columns 18, 19, 20, and 21.
