Abstract:

To provide a multi-disk frictional engagement device that can suppress an entire length from increasing without reducing a torque capacity and can improve heat dissipation.

A torque limiter 1 (multi-disk frictional engagement device) includes: a plurality of annular engagement plates 4 that are rotatable around a rotary shaft and juxtaposed in an axis direction; a friction member 5 that is arranged to face between the engagement plates 4; and a corned disc spring 9 that applies an axial pressing force for pressing the friction member 5 by the engagement plates 4 where the engagement plates 4 and the friction member 5 are frictionally engaged by the pressing force of the corned disc spring 9 via each contact surface of the engagement plates 4 and the friction member, and thicknesses of the engagement plates contacting with the corned disk spring 9 on the contact surface are larger in a radial direction position R1 than in a radial inner end R2.
