In order to drive a plurality of display panels, the multi-display device commonly uses a column driving circuit of the display panels or a back light unit. In order to prevent flowing in of a residual current into a sub-display panel during the operating interval of a main display panel, the multi-display device is provided with a column line selection section which breaks a column driving line connection to the sub-display panel and a display control circuit which includes a column line selection control section. By preventing occurrence of persistence of vision, which can be generated at the sub-display panel by a leak current, by the multi-display device, the load of a column line is held constant, the current consumption is reduced and driving performance is improved.
