Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001331249
Kind Code:

To make a computer system for the visually impaired easy to use since the computer system is extremely difficult to use in the present situation, and to provide various devices to which this compute system is applied.

Information obtained from the interface for outputting a video of a main computer or an interface almost directly connected to a system bus is received, character data included in the information are directly transmitted, bit map data included in the information are converted into character data by OCR software transmitted through a Chinese character/Japanese syllabary conversion software to a voice device, converted into Braille, and transmitted to a two-dimensional pin display. The data other than characters are transmitted through an input and output controller for displaying the data at a pin display as palpable images by using the projection of pins, or transmitted to a speaker or the two-dimensional pin display. Thus, it is possible to constitute a multi- display system, and to apply this system to various devices.
