PURPOSE: To provide a folding step capable of transferring from front or rear surface of a vehicle to another vehicle or getting down on a roadway.

CONSTITUTION: Footsteps 4.1, 5.1 are steps of feeding and containable step ladder 1 folded at front and rear surfaces of a vehicle. The ladder has at least a base ladder part position changeably slidable along a guide track 7 and a swinging ladder part 5 locked or hingedly carried by the base latter part at a folding position. In this case, the folded ladder 1 is, on the one hand, a connecting bridge half formed of the upper side footstep 4.1 and a step base 9 of a back surface side of the part 5 connected to the footstep 4.1 at the feeding position of the part 4. The step ladder can be, on the other hand, extended from the feeding position of the part 4 so that the part 5 released from the base latter part is swung to the position directed down together with the part 4 to form another footstep.
