Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-output DC-DC converter capable of eliminating the need to increase the capacity of an input smoothing capacitor beyond normally needed capacity.SOLUTION: A multi-output DC-DC converter includes: a plurality of DC-DC converters which individually output voltages lower than input voltages to themselves while functioning as step-down conversion circuits by making good use of electric power supplied from an input DC power source to a common power supply line; and control means for switching at least one of the plurality of DC-DC converters to function as a step-down conversion circuit if the voltage of the power supply line drops, and a DC-DC converter which still functions as the step-down conversion circuit continues to output a voltage lower than the input voltage to itself by making good use of electric power regenerated on the power supply line by the DC-DC converter having been switched to the step-down conversion circuit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
