Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball superior in the driving feeling, the controllability, the durability and the flying distance performance.
SOLUTION: This multi-piece gold ball comprises a solid core, an enveloping layer formed on the solid core, an intermediate layer on the enveloping layer, and a cover formed on the intermediate layer, at least one of the enveloping layer, the intermediate layer and the cover contains (a) an olefin-unsaturated carboxylic acid random copolymer and/or an olefin-unsaturated carboxylic acid-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester random copolymer, (b) a fatty acid having a molecular weight not less than 280 or its derivative, and (c) a basic inorganic metallic compound capable of neutralizing an acid group in the (a) and (b) components, the Shore D hardness of the cover is 45-68, and each Shore D hardness of the enveloping layer, the intermediate layer and the cover satisfy the relationship of (hardness of enveloping layer)≤(hardness of intermediate layer)≤(hardness of cover).
