PURPOSE: To print out data outputted from many kinds of work stations only by one printer by selecting a corresponding printer control code system out of various ones, and after converting data, printing out the converted data.

CONSTITUTION: An input part 2 receives the identification(ID) number of a work station sent from a server and a judging part 3 judges the machine sort of the work station from the ID number and sends the machine sort information and the data to a controlling/processing part 4. The controlling/processing part 4 selects its corresponding code system from a storage part 5 based upon the information, converts the data into a code and sends the code to an output part 6. The storage part 5 is a read-only memory(ROM) and stores all printer control code systems corresponding to the various work stations constituting a network. By the way the code system of a new printer can be added/changed to/in the ROM. The output part 6 prints out data based upon converted code sent from the controlling/processing part 4.
