To provide a multi-resolution optical system and a method for manufacturing the same.
A multi-resolution lens system (10) includes a relay lens (20) configured to be directed toward a field of view (FOV) (12) and receive a first plurality of image photons emanating from the field of view (12), a high-resolution lens (22) positioned to receive a second plurality of image photons from the field of view (12) and pass the second plurality of image photons toward the relay lens (20), and a shutter device (30), and the shutter device (30) is positioned to receive the image photons from the field of view (12) that pass through the relay lens (20) over an area of the shutter device (30), and simultaneously receive the image photons from a portion of the field of view (12) that pass through the high-resolution lens (22) and toward the relay lens (20) overlaid on a portion of the area of the shutter device (30).
