PURPOSE: To provide a multi-room type air conditioner of low cost by providing an indoor unit section which corresponds to a main body and circulates the air in a room and an outdoor unit which corresponds to the outside and connecting to the main body a cooling medium pipe for another room.

CONSTITUTION: In a main body 17 an indoor unit section 19 which corresponds to the indoor 18 and an outdoor unit section 20 which corresponds to the outdoor are provided. In the outdoor unit section 20 the outdoor air is taken in from an outdoor air suction port 33 and the air passes through an outdoor blower 36 and an outdoor heat exchanger which works as a condenser during room cooling and an evaporator during room heating and the air is discharged to the outside from an outdoor discharge air port 34. In the indoor unit section 19 which is connected by a piping from the outdoor unit section 20 to the outdoor heat exchanger 29 the indoor air flows in from a suction port 27 which is opposite the indoor 18 and the air flows via an indoor blower 30 and through an indoor heat exchanger 29 and is discharged from a discharge port 28, forming a discharge flow channel and then the indoor unit section 19 conducts directly the air conditioning of the indoor 18. On the other hand from cooling medium pipings 21 and 22 which are provided along the outer wall, for instance, and connected to first and second indoor machines which become the other room side cooling medium is sent through respective liquid pipe and gas pipe from the outdoor unit section 20.
