PURPOSE: To obtain the improved multi-spot conference speaker display system by providing a means for synthetically displaying videos, means for superimposing individual information to the video signal and means for displaying common information on the window of a terminal group.

CONSTITUTION: Before a conference starts, the individual information of participants received from respective-video conference terminals 151-154 and the common information concerning the conference is transmitted to a control part 342 by data transmission/reception parts 331-334 of a multi-spot video conference controller 310. The control part 342 converts the information to the superimpose information of a video synthesization switching and distributing part 351 corresponding to a telephone number or the like from a calling control part 341 and extracts designated information at the time of switching and selecting any picture based on selection information from the respective terminals 151-154. Based on the information from the control part 342, the distributing part 351 superimposes the individual information to the video signal, reduces, synthesizes the video signals and selectively synthesizes one part of video signals. A data distributing part 353 detects a speaking request and displays the common information on the windows of respective terminals 151-154 as data signals.
