An end part side for connecting the intermediate supporting rib 4 of an upper supporting rib 2 is constituted of side plate parts 21 facing each other holding the intermediate supporting rib 4 from both sides and an inclined plate part 22 for connecting the end parts on an umbrella cloth side of the side plate parts 21 with each other in the middle of the intermediate supporting rib 4, being gradually inclined so as to approach a lower connection rib 5 and bisecting a space between the side plate parts 21 by the end. At the time of folding this umbrella, a part of the intermediate supporting rib 4 is housed between the side plate parts 21 along one side face of the inclined plate part 22 and a part of a lower supporting rib 3 and the lower connection rib 5 is housed along the other side face.
