CONSTITUTION: A center equipment 20 is connected to plural user equipments 30 through light branching elements 11, 12 and optical fiber transmission lines 13 which are arranged on multi-stage (M stages (M is an integer ≥2) and signal transmission is executed between the center equipment 20 and each user equipment 30. In this multi-stage light branching point/multi-point optical transmission system, plural ports are formed on the center equipment 20 side of the 1st element 11 counted from the center side, plural optical fiber transmission lines 13a, 13b are connected between the equipment 20 and the 1st element 11 and the equipment 20 is provided with a route selecting means for selecting an optical fiber transmission line to be used out of plural ones 13a, 13b.
