Title:
MULTI-STANDARD TELEVISION RECEIVER WITH LUMA/CHROMA DELAY COMPENSATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3662290
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a multi-standard television receiver which avoids undesired switching artifacts.
CONSTITUTION: In the picture receiver, a delay composite signal delayed by a delay element 60 is applied to luma and chroma inputs 40 and 50 of a picture processor 10 in the case of a reception signal in the NTSC format. In the case of a reception signal in the PAL format, the delay composite signal is applied to only the luma input of the picture processor, and the chroma component of the reception signal code-converted to the NTSC format (80) and is applied t the chroma input of the picture processor without passing the composite signal delay element. Delay in the composite signal delay element is selected so as to be equal to code conversion delay, and luma and chroma components of the reception signal in the NTSC or PAL format delayed and compensated. The same delay value is given to the luma component in the case of the signal in either form, and it is unnecessary to switch a delay element in a luma route at the time for form conversion.
